Terra Formars Manga Chapter 116 English Translation

I don't really have anything specific to say this time so here's my release of chapter 116, enjoy!

I updated this chapter with a few fixes, nothing major but please re-upload to read online sites if you could. Also, if anyone spots any mistakes like typo's and what not, please inform me so I can fix it. Thanks.

Terra Formars Manga Chapter 115 English Translation

I planned to have this finished yesterday but typesetting was taking longer than I thought, so I decided to finish it today. Anyhow, its here now, and I should have another two chapters finished by the end of the week. Also, Akari kinda goes full Shinji in this chapter, I half expected "I feel the pain, but the tears won't come" or "Don't say goodbye on a mission, its so sad". Okay, not really, but you know what I mean. The Japanese always write their dialogue like that. Anyway, I hope you enjoy this chapter. Until next time!

Terra Formars Manga Chapter 114 English Translation

It seems some people on batoto are getting pissed at me for "hijacking" the release of Terra Formars. That said, there is no such thing as scanlator "dibs" on any series whatsoever. Its very egotistical to think so and is a practice that needs to die. Anyone should be able to freely pick up anything because no scanlator group owns any series, the creator does. So its not some dude on the internet, and its certainly not me.

Heck, translation wise, mine and display: none;'s will probably end up very differently. For one, I tend to translate literally while they on the other hand don't, rewriting dialogues into "what cha" and "you guys". I don't intend to judge, but I never liked that about their translation. It always felt inaccurate and made me feel very skeptical about its accuracy. That said, maybe some people prefer it that way, and maybe some people don't. I for one don't, but if you do, then go ahead and wait for their release. I'm not forcing anyone to read mine, and I'm not "hijacking" anything. So go ahead and choose your preference. However, many people probably don't even care about any of this, and only want to read more of a series that they are interested in. I believe that's the majority, but because of this, some people think I am stealing their thunder by releasing it earlier than theirs, because nobody will notice or read theirs once released. If you think that, you have a very large, over bloated ego and presumably only care about the attention in which you receive. I for one on the other hand don't care about any of that, as I too only wish to read more of a series in which I enjoy. So I'm not doing this for any sort of attention, or anything of the like. I just hope that people understand that.

Now that I've got that out of the way, here's the next chapter of Terra Formars. I hope you enjoy it. Things from now on should be that much easier, as I won't have to painfully airbrush away anything thanks to the Spanish supplying me with clean images. All said and done, I appreciate the comments and messages I've been receiving. Thank you, and I hope you continue to support me along the way. Until next time.

P.S. - For those uploading to read online sites, please reupload all chapters if you could. There was a few fixes I did last time but mediafire stupidly duplicated the files rather than replace them (even though I clicked replace), although that's all fixed now. Thanks.

Neon Genesis Evangelion Video Game Translation Suggestions

Erm, I posted this on Evageeks but it seems not much people will post. Anyhow, I'll just drop it here for the time being. I'll be finishing up my current translation project in about a month, so I might stray back into Evangelion territory. That said, I just want to gather some information/thoughts on which Eva game people would prefer a translation for. I wouldn't mention console games just yet as they usually require custom written programs to translate, and 99% of people I've contacted have ignored my messages... so, yeah. Anyhow, I've got a few in mind.
  1. Girlfriend of Steel 2 (Looks funny, could be worth a good laugh)
  2. Shinji Ikari Raising Project (Very unsure, ugly art)
  3. Ayanami Raising Project? (PC)
I know, a short list, but you might be wondering why I put Ayanami Raising Project on there. For one, my translation of the NDS version was very lousy, but I have improved greatly since then so I have been wondering about doing the PC version for a refined experience (with honorifics) of its original release. Two, there are a few things different between both versions, a few side events are missing since they were added in its ports and the fact that the PC version has a few exclusive endings. If you're familiar with ARP, you're probably aware of the ganguro and dominatrix endings that are exclusive to the PC and presumably the Dreamcast version as well, which were removed in the later PS2 and NDS ports. I'm very interested in what they detail, and they are also a few other exclusive endings (horseback riding for one) and even some with different artwork. Thirdly, not all the dialogue (less of it, especially in Angel encounter missions) in the game is the same and neither are the training options, as the original release was somewhat lacking in the much needed depth that the ports added. Heck, the Russians even made a mod for the game so there's also the possibility of translating that, too. That said, I know translating the same game twice may not be a good idea but I think it would be worth it. Anyhow, just gives your thoughts or suggestions on which game you'd prefer to have a translation for. I'm thinking GOS2, what about everyone else?

Terra Formars Manga Chapters 112 & 113 English Translation

Great news guys, it seems we worked it out. Long story short, I just have to add a little credit and note onto the credits page and bam! I get the clean images for the future chapters, which they have already started doing with 115. However, by the time I asked, they had already deleted all the previous ones, so I still have to airbrush up until 115. But! I think thats worth it because things will become far smoother there onward. That said, I'm also starting to translate from Japanese now. That'll be from 112 onward (this chapter), so accuracy to the original text should be that much better. Anyhow, I also made a few edits to some of the pre-existing chapters (108-111) as I clumsily made a few mistakes. All said and done, I hope you enjoy the next two chapters of Terra Formars! Until next time!

P.S. - What about honorifics? Any thoughts on where ever I should include them? Also, I updated the downloads for chapters 108-111 with the fixes I mentioned, just FYI. I hope those who uploaded them to read online sites notice this, as I'm guessing they already did without realising they had no changes due to stupid mediafire duplicating the files rather than replacing them even though I clicked replace. Anyhow, that's fixed now.

Terra Formars Manga Chapter 111 English Translation

I commented on the Spanish groups Facebook page and quickly got a response from them, but sadly not what I was looking for. There's no point going into detail but in short, they said no when I asked for the PSD files, and mentioned they delete them after use. That said, it seems its airbrush galore for me. I'm not really good at it, but I'll try my best to make sure its not as noticeable. However, I'm still in discussion with the group so maybe there's a chance they'll send me the clean images for new chapters they work on. If they do, I could pump out chapters much faster, so we'll have to see on that. Anyhow, I hope you enjoy the next chapter. Until next time!
If anyone wants to suggest a change of fonts and such, go right ahead. I'm open to suggestions. Also, I keep my PSD files so I can always go back and improve a chapter if need be, just a little FYI.

Update - 11th March
It seems I forgot to include page 11 of this chapter, but I inserted it back in there now. You can thank a certain fellow in the comments section for point that out. Thanks a bunch!

Terra Formars Manga Chapters 108-110 English Translation

I know some people may be pissed at what you're about to read, but I do have reasons, if you'll listen that is. Now, as you can tell from the title, yes, I am working on the next Terra Formars manga chapters. That said, if you know me, you probably have a good idea how I'm going about doing it. Well, for those who don't know (meaning everyone), it is a machine translation, and a translation of a translation at that. Yeah, say what you will, but the Spanish are already 6 chapters ahead. So, I got the idea of translating their release and fixing up the dialogue so it flows better for a quick and dirty read for those who want to jump ahead. More reasons, see below:
  1. I'm bored.
  2. I need experience in manga scanlation for future projects.
  3. I want to read more Terra Formars, like now and I'm sure some others do to.
  4. It'll be over a month until display: none; releases the next volume, which the Spanish will be past soon enough.
  5. Chapter 108 was released last August, which shows just how long these events have already happened and how far readers outside Japan are behind.
  6. Did I mention I was bored?

Now, this isn't meant to replace anything. It'll just be there for those who want to read ahead chapter by chapter as opposed to waiting longer for the volume release by display: none;. That's all, so try not to judge too harsh. Anyhow, it still takes time to do this sort of thing as opposed to what some may think, see below:
  • Typing up the Spanish text is time consuming, and OCR is useless
  • Airbrushing is required, which is also time consuming
  • Translating, time consuming, too. And no, an auto dump from Bing or Google doesn't cut it.
  • Typesetting, again time consuming

That said, I'll try my best to work as fast as I can. So much that I'm already dipping deep into Higurashi Rei time, not that I care. It'll be done whenever, because for one translating large amounts of JP text drives one to the brink of feckin insanity, especially when its a visual novel, so a break into something else is necessary. That, and I'm starting to get bored with Higurashi (not enough doujinshi). Anyhow, I hope some people appreciate my efforts. This isn't easy for me as it is my first manga project, but I should improve over time with feedback and natural learning. That said, you'll find the links for Terra Formars chapters 108-110 below. And I'll be releasing the following chapters when they're done (already typed up the Spanish for Chapter 111 and half way through 112), so I won't be sitting on anything after its finished. Enjoy!

I have already tried contacting the Spanish translation group many times about forwarding me their PSD files, but it seems they're not responding. Erm, I guess its tedious airbrushing then. Fuck!

Terra Formars live action film adaption announced

Ugh, it seems the terrible has happened. Yes, a Terra Formars live action has been announced, and it will directed by none other than Takashi Miike. The idiot who brought us Zebraman, Ichi the killer, and such great classic's like two men form into a giant penis and kill another Dead or Alive 3. Spells success, doesn't it? Yeah, I'm sure it'll turn out great, just like all the other abominations Takashi Miike likes to fart out his stinky ass these days. Ugh, why am I getting such punishment, I did nothing wrong and my body was not ready, why!? This project spells disaster, what, are they just gonna cast Japanese actors for all the foreigners or change the entire mission to Japan solo? Probably will, and what about the actual roach men, CGI fest I'm guessing, or something along the lines of this.
It seems they've already started production on the porno spoof
We deserve better, not this shit. Tojo live action adaptations suck ass 99% of the time so what's the point, it only makes us cringe watching the things we love turn to utter shit. Take those god awful Samurai X (Rurouni Kenshin) live action movies for example, complete trash. But speaking about Miike himself, he's not a very good director. He only has a cult following and niche fan base who love to act as his personal fluffers and praise his works as masterpieces, like most Asian directors, Park Chan-wook anyone. I mean, Zebraman was fucking terrible and Miike actually made Zebraman 2 worse, however the fuck that happened, and Ichi the killer was a complete joke, I laughed my ass off watching that shit fest. He's just a moron, he may have made a few good movies in his time like Dead or Alive 1 & 2 but even then they still have problems and for the most part were all in the past. Now, he's just a washed up Tojo jerking dogs off for a living to pay off rent and for crabs infested hookers from Shinjuku. In short, I predict a shitfest like Gantz for the upcoming live action adaption of Terra Formars. And hurry up with new chapters and volumes of the manga ya lazy bum, scanlate faster! Johj johj johj johj johj!

Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Kizuna 1 & 2 Graphics Rip

I got these from TheGuraGuraMan many months back last year, good thing I did because he was the only guy (from my knowledge) who had them on the net, and also add in the fact he never shared or let people know he had the first two Kizuna games sprites and background CG's ripped. Again, for years! Anyway, they're here now if you want them so take a gander if you will. Too bad there's no rip for Kizuna 3 or 4, but we'll get better higher resolution ones when Sui comes out anyway. Have fun, ya whippersnapper!

Higurashi Daybreak Portable Mega Edition Sprites Rip

I got this from a guy in a gbatemp topic who knew a guy that ripped them for me, they're not 100% properly decompressed but they'll do. However, TheGuraGuraMan actually already had the entire thing ripped years ago, just that he never bothered to share them openly on the net. Kind of a dick move, even more so because when I asked for the ones he had, he never responded back, what an ass. Anyway, I guess this download will have to do. Mostly everything is there so if you were interested in the games sprites before, you can have a look at them now. Have fun!
