Terra Formars Manga Chapter 131 English Translation

Oh! Things are getting interesting! Can't wait to see what happens next. Also, I need to get away from my literalness so I did just that with this chapter, and I'm liking the result. Though I just hope that you do, too. Hee hee. Anyhow, I take it that an interest in doujinshi is a no, yes? Ha ha, I doubt any of you guys wanted to see the jojh get their freak on, anyway. That said, I've also finished translating my main VN TL project Girlfriend of Steel 2, so I should have more time to work on Terra Formars as a whole. Yay! Also, left you a present at the end of the chapter. Hee hee.

P.S. - I think the writer got that part at the end wrong because previously it said 10 years ago which from 2620 (Current time) is 2610 and not 2604. Then for some reason it just say’s 16 years, 16 years. 16 years what? Actually, 16 years from 2604 is 2620. Hmm.

Terra Formars Manga Chapter 130 English Translation

There was a tad bit more translating and redrawing than I expected for this one, though I got through it okay. Anyhow, I would just like to mention that I sometimes get moody or exhausted with all this, and that it reflects in my releases. That's why last time wasn't quite up to standard. That said, I would also like to mention that I have a porn poll up on e-hentai at the moment, so if there's interest in that sort of thing, I might translate a Terra Formars doujinshi. Furthermore, I was wondering if you guys have any interest in Rain Hard, because if there is, I might start translating that as well. It looks kinda good. Thoughts? Lastly, I finished that other side project of mine (Higurashi Rei Sui Patch), so I should have more time to work on Terra Formars since that was taking up quite a bit of time over the past few months. Glad to have it out of the way. Another thing, I think I misread the military fire department part since the quality of the online scans aren't perfect. Hmm. That stuff always bugs me.

Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Rei v1.1 English Translation & Sui Patch

Now, I've had this in the works for some time (months), but I was tripling projects so it was hard to fit this in-between my weekly Terra Formars release and my main VN translation, Girlfriend of Steel 2. Also, I had to go through each line to add in quotations so going through the entire script again took freaking forever. Anyhow, I wanted to keep things quiet to surprise the community, unless you've been following my twitter and noticed that I've mentioned it and posted things related frequently. That said, this isn't just a Sui patch for Rei as I also fixed up some of the dialogue here and there and removed those pesky japanese brackets in favor of quotations, too. Yes, quotations, bitches! I couldn't have them before due to a technical issue, but I checked out the other arc that was translated years ago and noticed they had a little digit like this ' before each line so that the game wouldn't crash if a " was used instead of a JP bracket. Wish I knew that sooner.

Furthermore, I took the liberty of making various versions of the translation aimed at different types of people. Now, you are going to be puzzled by what you see in the archive, but I assure you, it is for everyone's benefit. That said, as I mentioned above, I took the liberty of making various versions of the translation aimed at different types of people. What do I mean by that, you ask? Simple. Since there are those who prefer honorifics and those who don't, I created different versions of the translation aimed directly at them. However, I also wanted to test things out and attempt translating the honorifics, so the folder called "Translated Honorifics" is just that. See this notes document for more. All said and done, you can choose to read the game in its original form, or with the PS3 sprites and backgrounds with either translation type. So pick your poison and place the script file from your desired way to read (folder) and place it where the onscripter exe is. Simple. Then use said exe to launch the game and read away.

Now, I'm very glad to get this off my back as I can now focus my efforts on other things. Terra Formars and Evangelion mainly. So yes! No more Higurashi! I'm free! Ah ha ha ha ha ha! However, if you encounter any errors or things that I may have overlooked, then please inform me right away so I can fix it. Have fun reading, and enjoy the patch. See ya!

Got a boom in views thanks to that reddit post. Didn't expect that.

Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Matsuri Sprites 640x480

I planned to make my own fan-game of Higurashi late last year, but I am always busy so I only got around to writing the first day. I had to put the Matsui sprites onto a 640x480 background and correct their height for the program I was using, but as you read above, I never finished (or started should I say) writing so I think I'll just upload the files I planned to use. Maybe someone will find them of use. Though I have had these since December last year, but I lost track of things and only remembered about them recently. Anyhow, enjoy, I guess.

Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Sui Graphics Rip

I'm very happy that Sui was ripped, but it was a real downer to see that more or less nothing was sorted. Therefore, I did just that. Everything is where it should be, character sprite folders, backgrounds and locations, extras, etc etc etc. You can find the download links below, and the mega resource folder where I got it from and for everything ripped from Sui, also. Anyhow, I am a 7-zip user so naturally the archive is in that format. Therefore, go get that and use it to rebuild the folder. It's fairly straightforward, so you should have no problems. Have fun!

Part 1
Part 2
Part 3
Part 4
Part 5

It seems the files were flagged, so I’ll try uploading it elsewhere and edit the link then. Grr!

Update Part 2 - The Quickening
Finally got around to uploading this and don't laugh, but I uploaded it to my Google Drive. Either or, have at it. It's better than a shit ton of unsorted files.

Terra Formars Manga Chapter 129 English Translation

Hmm. I'm not too satisfied with this chapter. Some of the dialogue doesn't quite flow well, a few lines I found hard to understand, and as usual my typesetting skills suck. However, I did send the lines that confused me off to a friend of mine, but he didn't respond so I just went ahead with what I did since I really didn't want to wait any longer. Though I can always patch things up at a later date if need be. Anyhow, there was a shit ton of airbrushing I had to do for this chapter which took many hours on end. It pains me even more so since I have to do everything myself to get even a single chapter out:

  • Character recognition
  • Translating
  • Redrawing
  • Typesetting

And in that order. The first one is stressful since I have to use those filthy online scans to read and recognize the characters to build a word document of the chapter. Meh. Makes me wish I had actual help with this, because then I'd be able to either work more on my other projects or pump out Terra Formars chapters faster. Speaking of dirty scans, I couldn't even recognize the "in the next chapter" part at the end due to the terrible quality, so I just made something up and added "Martian Tourists". That said, we have now readed the end of the 13th volume. Yay! Also, ;display none shouldn't be too far behind so I'm sure they'll have their release out sooner or later. I'll post the link for it here when they do, though. Wouldn't want all their effort to go to waste. All said and done, you can find links for chapter 129 below. See ya!

Fixed a thing or two. The "worshipping" to "worshipping it" and the "in the next chapter segment".

Mazin Go Jungle

If you're a fan of Nagai of sorts or at least browse /m/ on 4chan, then you might have noticed that a Dynamic Pro focused shop called Mazin Go Jungle has recently opened in Japan. It appears to be selling various goods like any store, but there are also some weird, funny looking Devilman glasses for sale at a staggering 24,000 yen. Sheesh. Expensive. I want one. But alas, one does not have such large coffers, nor coin to ascertain such passage to the Wano Kingdom. What a cruel world. Ahem. It's really neat looking and has a bunch of statues and posters everywhere about the place. Looks exciting, doesn't it? However, I do wonder if it'll even get any good business to stay afloat since Nagai doesn't really sell all that well these days, and the fact that it is all of old series from the 70's and the like so this does not bode well. Though the vending machine empire is present so I'm sure that'll at least bring in some dough, though not for Uncle Go. Japan sure love their vending machines, don't they? Cant live without them, no sir ree. Either or, I hope it does stay in business as more Nagai is always welcome. Anyhow, there's a thread on 4chan which has been posting pictures of the place, so check that out if you're interested.

Actually, it turns out that the shop has been there for over ten years selling a similar sort of items, but just that they rebranded it recently to Mazin Go Jungle. Thanks random Japanese dude in the 4chan thread for that info.

Neon Genesis Evangelion: Girlfriend of Steel 2nd (PC Download)

I finally got off my butt to upload the PC version to the net seeing how no one else has, and I doubt people want to get it through a shitty, low-seeder torrent on nyaa. Anyhow, the main reason I wanted to upload this is for ease of access for those who want to try out the Chapter 1 Demo that I put out recently, and so people can have the game ready for when I finish translating the darn game, also. Either or, the links are reliable so go ahead and download it if you're interested.

Review: Go Nagai's Adaptation of Dante's Divine Comedy

Now, though most of this was lost on me, it was still enjoyable. That said, if you didn't know, this is an adaptation of Dante's Divine Comedy by Uncle Go. It follows the story for the most part, and adds/changes some things here and there as I have read. I haven't read the original story, so I don't know myself how this take on the story differs from the source. Anyhow, it is about a poet named Dante who is banished from Firenze (Florence) in Italy, wanders into a forest, gets cornered by animals, but is saved by a strange man who then tells him he has to enter hell. Either or, the jist of the entire story is that Dante must brave the horrors of hell and purgatory, and then inform the world above that it is where they will all end up if they don't be good little Christians. And that's that, or for the most part since I could only read up to chapter 25 (I think) because it wasn't fully scanlated. Grr! Anyway, onto my thoughts.

You can follow the plot good enough to have a brief understanding, but most of the dialogue is written in style of the original poem (a decision by the scanlator group even though it isn't like that in the Japanese) which can be hard to read and follow at times. Though it doesn't hamper the experience all that much. The art is Nagai, and the various sections of hell and purgatory are enjoyable and interesting to see and learn from. I mean, who doesn't love random human suffering and demons? That said, there are also various figures from history and from the current point in time which Dante is from that appear throughout the story in the various circles and levels of hell and purgatory, who tell their story to Dante. Interesting. Also, it was kinda funny and cruel to see that even those who have no faith are automatically shoved into hell after dying for not worshipping God. I mean, what an asshole. Make God strike me down. *Hides under blanket* No fire and brimstone? Good. Also, you may laugh, but I half expected to see Zenon sitting down there in the final circle of hell. Yes, I know. I've still got my Devilman head cannon on. Still, it was nice to see the circles of hell again as they are the exact same ones shown in Devilman Lady when Jun enters hell. Furthermore, the tale of Dante and various references to the original story are present in that arc of Devilman Lady, so it was nice to see the same visuals and connections again.

Anyhow, the idea of a man braving the horrors of hell is very interesting in itself, so I would recommend this to those who have an interest in this sort of thing,or even just Nagai fans. Though those not used to his art style will probably be turned off to reading the entire thing and the fact that it wasn't fully scanlated may also turn people off, so only Nagai fans need apply. All said and done, though it may not be the most spectacular thing ever made, I would still recommend this people to read or at least check out, so go ahead and do that if you're interested.
