Neon Genesis Evangelion: Girlfriend of Steel 2nd (PC Download)

I finally got off my butt to upload the PC version to the net seeing how no one else has, and I doubt people want to get it through a shitty, low-seeder torrent on nyaa. Anyhow, the main reason I wanted to upload this is for ease of access for those who want to try out the Chapter 1 Demo that I put out recently, and so people can have the game ready for when I finish translating the darn game, also. Either or, the links are reliable so go ahead and download it if you're interested.

  1. Thanks you for this! but I'm not sure how to install it as the Japanese characters show up as question marks and various symbols. Any help with this?

    1. Don't worry about that. That's because you're not running it in Japanese locale, though it isn't necessary. Just click through the menu's and it'll install. It's very simply like any other program to install.

    2. It works right up until I think it's asking me to choose some location from my C:, D: or I think it was E: drive, and so naturally I choose my C: drive but no matter what I choose it apparently(?) wasn't working and so I eventually gave up.

    3. It's just asking for a folder to install it to. Though if you didn't run it in administrator mode, then please do so and try again. If that doesn't work, then get yourself the Japanese locale for your computer and run it through that.

    1. That's fine. I cleaned the place up a bit, anyhow. Anyway, what do you mean by having problems to run once mounted? Can you give me a bit more info?
Though I'm guessing it has something to do with not having Japanese locale installed (unsure if it's necessary since I've had it for years), so you might want to do that and try again. It's fairly simple, because after you've installed it, all you need to do is right click and select run in Japanese locale. Simple.

  4. No, i do have japanese locale installed, i've had it set that way for about a year now. The issue is i'll mount the iso file but whenever i try to run the setup program it will launch and show up on my task manager but it'll never actually progress.

    1. Oh. Hmm. Try deleting the exe in task manager and try again. Sometimes if you click an application multiple times it jams up the process, or something like that. Though I'm unsure what the problem is, but I'll upload a folder version of GOS2 so anyone else who encounters this problem can bypass it.

    1. That's because what I uploaded in this post was the game itself. It was never released in English, so obviously it's in Japanese. If you want to play it i English, then I recommend you to apply the chapter 1 demo patch that I released not too long ago. Have fun.

  7. I can't make the installer work. I have locale set to Japanese, and have tried running as administrator, and compatibility mode, but whatever I do 32-bit setup launcher shows up in tasks but never actually appears on screen. Am I supposed to run something other than Setup.exe?

    1. I'm unsure what the problem is, but sometimes multiple running exes of the same thing causes it not to load. Anyway, you don't have to set your locale to Japanese, just right click and select "run with Japanese locale as administrator". Simple.

  8. For anyone who has the problem of when you get to 60-75% and it brings up a window to choose a location, you have to have the second disk mounted and then just choose the 2nd disk (for me it was :F, but results may vary), because turns out what it's asking for is the rest of the instillation files, not the installation location.

  10. Hello, sorry for commenting on an old post, but I was wondering if you, or anyone here could help me.

I'm having the same problem as some of the other comments, and I haven't been able to solve it.
The thing is that when I run SETUP.EXE (even as admin) it shows up as a background process called "32-bit Setup Launcher (32 bits)" in task admin and doesn't actually do anything.

I have set my locale to japanese and the problem persist.

Now I will detail the process that I used to try and get the game running so if there's any obvious mistake you could please try and correct me.
First I downloaded the 7Z files from the links in the post, and extracted the ISO files from them into my hard drive using 7-zip.
Then I extracted the game files from the ISO files into my hard drive using Daemon Tools Lite.
Then I pasted the game files into a folder so that the game files from both ISOs would be in the same folder.
Then I tried running SETUP.EXE (as admin), and as I said, nothing actually happens and it stays as a background process.

Sorry for any mistakes, english is not my first language.

  11. Nevermind! I finally figured how to make it work! I had to run SETUP.EXE from the drive created by Daemon Tools Lite instead, not from my own hard drive, from then on everything went smooth and I can actually play the game!
