Magic Knight Rayearth OVA Encode Comparison

Here's a few images showing a image quality comparison between my recent encode and the old anime-takeover release. First off, they encoded from the american DVDs if I remember correctly while I did so from the Japanese DVDs which is the main reason why mine looks much better. Well, that and they softened the image with filters to make the file size smaller and whatnot. Anyhow, these are the same frames, but either they cropped it or the English release was just like that. Probably the latter. And you can see the images below. Nothing else to say. See ya!

Magic Knight Rayearth - Making of Magic Knight & Saturn Game Box & Booklet Scans

Bought the Saturn (Japanese version) and Making of Magic Knight video games fairly recently so I scanned the booklets and stuff that came with them both seeing how nobody else will ever bother to. Anyhow, there was also this data book thing that came with the Saturn game with character pages and the like so you might want to check that out. Other than that, the other things are just your average run of the mill video game manuals, but you might want to check them out regardless. Also, I've ordered the Missing Colours so I'll get to scanning that when it arrives sooner or later. Nothing else to say. Enjoy! See ya!

Magic Knight Rayearth Anime Album 2

Actually stumbled upon a higher quality and resolution version of this on Facebook about a week ago when I was searching the net for the RG Veda artbooks where I ended up first on a Spanish CLAMP fansite and then stumbled around a few other places before landing on Facebook. Kinda weird, huh? In any case, this was uploaded on the net before only on exhentai as far as I know in terrible quality. But, this version is much better and not a pixelated mess.

Anyhow, what this does have is stuff from the 2nd season of the anime (which reminds me how bad the designs are in comparison to CLAMP's manga) and also some neat character design pages and such at the end. If you're a fan of the series, I recommend you to check it out. See ya!

Magic Knight Rayearth DVD Blu-Ray Comparison - Part 3

You know, I may be a stupid bastard but at least I admit it. That's gotta count for something, right? Anyway, I really should have just done this from the get go but knowing me and my lazy ass I never actually went to compare the raw BD to the DVD myself as those other 4 pics from before were off the nyaa filter torrent as comparison. However, here's about 10 images straight from the raw BD in comparison to the DVD release, and also two other pics at the end of a shitty BD encode I attempted and failed miserably. Granted I've never had any experience with encoding but I wanted to see if it would turn out any good and as you can see it doesn't look very good even though it was at 15000 bitrate using handbrake. In any case, umm, bye.

Magic Knight Rayearth DVD Blu-Ray Comparison - Part 2

I actually forgot to mention last time that the BD comparison pics I posted were from a filtered torrent and not the raw BD. Therefore, to help clear things up, here's what the actual BD looks like in comparison to the filtered version. Now, the BD doesn't look very good and while the filtered version does indeed look better in some ways, the lines are far too smudged. However, just as a test, I overlayed the filtered version on top of the raw BD at 50% opacity to gain some kind of middle ground and it seems an improvement. You'll find that pic right at the end. Thoughts?

Magic Knight Rayearth Blu-ray Box Illustrations Gallery

Some artwork and illustrations that were used on CDs, DVDs and such that came with the Blu-ray Box. Compressed them so they were 122mb instead of being 400mb odd. You'll not notice much difference, anyhow. Enjoy. I'll drop a few pics, and download and view online links below. See ya.

Magic Knight Rayearth Blu-Ray Digital Gallery

Some nice looking art, design stuff and such as an extra on the 7th disc of the blu-ray for the 1st and 2nd season of the anime. I like. Especially Nova, Iczer references and Obari. Ahem. Anyway, if you're a fan of the series then you'll probably want to take a look at these. There's also some storyboards in there including the intros and outros so they'll be worth a look, too.
