Final Word on Infection (Manga by Toru Oikawa)

Hmm. I know I said that I would get another chapter of this out some time ago and even put it on my schedule about a month ago, but to be honest, I really don't fucking want to. I mean, there's honestly no point at all wasting my time doing 1 chapter when I honestly could just work on something more meaningful and something that I enjoy instead, and for one thing finish eventually. That's why I don't plan to continue this series at all, in future or at any stage. You probably already guessed that, but I just wanted to have an official post to let those interested know. However, the actual only way to get me to continue will be by commission. Yeah yeah, I know, but there has to be something in it for me if it's for something that I don't enjoy or really don't want to do. It's that simple. If you want to commission me, I will do it and right away. Not that I actually expect anyone to do that, but it is an option if you really want to read more. Anyway, I hope you guys understand. Man, I love that song. Anyway, not really liking how the story is going in this manga so sadly I’ve decided to drop it in favor of other things. The first chapter was decent enough but it has slowly started going downhill because I’ve had a look a the raws and it looks kinda shit to be honest. That, it’s weekly and I won’t be able to catch up to the raws like that by myself. However, hopefully some other group will take over and continue, but if not, I’ll still pump out a chapter every now and then for old times sake. At any rate, sorry to burst your bubble but I really want to get back into Terra Formars. That’s where I’m heading next. Anyway, love you and leave you. see ya! You never watch a sunset, or see the light of day. What kind of a life is that when you keep it locked away. You've become pathetic shadows of what once you were...hmmm. I mean, Kyochuu Rettou is a breeze in comparison and enjoyable. This? This fucking stresses me out. Meh. Anyway, not much to say other than the Portuguese (who never responded when I messaged them about it) got character names wrong and had "river" for kawauchi even though kawauchi is a fucking distict in Sendai City. Stupid fucks. At least check shit first. Sheesh. Now go watch Lexx, ya stupid, ungrateful, underage fucks. I'm not in the mood. Fuck off.

When I am dancing, I feel funky. Oh, right. Song time over. Anyway, had a tough time with this chapter. There was a shit-ton of text to translate and to typeset. Shit's fucking frustrating. But, I actually got a little help in the form of redraw from the Portuguese group scanlating the series and also what kaiyui kurosaki did for chapter 2 since he dropped the series in favor of me doing it instead. And that's me set until chapter 6 for redraw. Yippee! Thanks a bunch. Woah! At any rate, other than that, this was a very boring chapter with cringy dialogue. However, things do step up next chapter of  rape worm apocalypse of the dead so I look forward to chapter 3. Umm, bye!

Infection: Chapter 1 - Infection Revolution

Crawling in my skin. These wounds they will not heal. Fear is how I fall. Confusing what is real. There's something inside me that pulls beneath the surface. Consuming, confusing. This lack of self-control I fear is never ending. Controlling. I can't seem... To find myself again. My walls are closing in (without a sense of confidence and I'm convinced that there's just too much pressure to take). I've felt this way before. So insecure!

Ha ha. Jokes aside. I actually kinda like Infection. It may be generic and with a ton of cliques, but that doesn't stop it from being entertaining. Anyway, I had been planning to this since mid/late december but only got around to it now due to Terra Formars, Evangelion: Girlfriend of Steel Special Edition and Kyochuu Rettou and I also wanted to get a Neo Devilman chapter out. However, seems that another group jumped the gun and already released before I did. Buuuut, I don't really care about that. I contacted him and we may end up working together on the series.

In other news, the guys I was working with totally fucked up. Not only did they forget to clean a few pages, they also didn't deliver when they said they would with the color pages redrawn yesterday. And I gave them days ahead notice that I was planning to release yesterday, but not a peep out of 'em. Therefore, I had to redraw and clean the color pages and one they couldn't redraw myself today after I got outta work. Ugh. Come outta work and had to spend like 5 frickin' hours at it non-stop to get it done. Anyway, being pissed aside. I'd just like to mention a few TL things. First, raggy sis. Now, the "ragi" part seem to be a shortened version of the Japanese word for "rugged" or "raggy" so that's what I went with rather than leaving it untranslated. Unless I'm wrong (probably) and it means something else.

At any rate, there's also the "hentai vision" line. That just said ero so again what we all love, hentai. Hentai is my favorite anime! Ah. My bad. Anyway, there was also the shit in a can part, but he just said "just in case, this" but I found it funny to change that line so shit in a can it was. That, and it implies the same thing. Lastly, this also took my quite a while to translate and typeset. Hmm. Why do I always have to do everything myself? Being me is suffering, you know? Other than that, enjoy the chapter and see ya next time on rape worm apocalypse of the dead.

Review: Cutie Honey (Manga)

Man has it been some time since I read this and Iron Virgin Jun. I mean, I completely forgot about both after reading them over a month ago. Still, like before, late is better than never so on to the review. Now, Cutie Honey is classic Nagai as classic Nagai can get. It pulls all the jokes and is very fun and entertaining to read overall. That said, I actually really enjoyed it and didn’t have much problems with it at all, other than some of the fanservice which went a bit too far, the eyebrow raising violence, and that attempted rape scene. Well, not some of the fanservice, just mainly this one scene. Let me begin. Cutie is fleeing from the Panther Claw and has only one transformation left, so she decides to turn into a statue to fool the enemy. It works and they leave after many grizzling hours later. However, Cutie can’t leave immediately after they do, no sir ree, as she has to stay put until the coast is clear. Oh-oh, this can’t be good. Not long after the villains leave, that reporter guys old man and brother come into the park and immediately notice the nude statue. Hubba hubba. They approach it and notice how lifelike and realistic it is, and being the perverted old man and child they are and the fact that they are Japanese, they begin to touch the statue. Oh-boy, oh, boy, oh-boy! Ahem. They realise that it’s not only realistic, but that it’s also warm to the touch, and that it becomes wet after being licked. And this is where things take a turn for the worse. Okay, get this, the old man begins sucking her nipples and the kid starts to lick out her crotch…….. what!? I mean, Nagai has done weird things in the past and I totally think that this one takes the cake, but is it even legal? Just look at that! I feel that this part could have easily been omitted or changed as it’s not funny (unless you think rape jokes and groping is funny) and freaking creepy. And the joke is that she has to endure their "assault" since she can't move or make any noise. Laugh.

That aside, Cutie Honey is very funny and very entertaining to read, and actually still holds up today which is a major bonus. You will laugh hard, and be dying to read more. However, that’s not to say it’s perfect or doesn’t have any flaws. It’s sadly only two volumes long and I just know that it should have been much longer or at least 5 volumes for a story of this type. And for one thing, some of the plot threads tend to be rather generic like an enemy disguising as that reporter guy to get closer to Cutie to try and kill her, but I think that’s because like Mazinger Z and a bunch of Nagai’s other works, they are the one’s which started it all and are what following manga and anime took inspiration from. Therefore, even if they come off as so, we can still appreciate them for being the forerunner of today’s manga/anime and their standards. Now, lastly I would like to mention that there is surprisingly a tad bit of violence present in Cutie Honey. It was really puzzling because it should be more comedy focused like its anime counterpart. However, that in itself is a staple of Nagai’s work since he always does this sort of thing and because this is also not the first time I’ve encountered a work of his and brought up the same notion. Remember Guerilla High/Gakuen Taikutsu Otoko? Could have worked better as solely parody/comedy manga, but Nagai is Nagai and his insane, unique way of creating manga is one of his biggest appeals that allows him to stand apart from most other manga authors out there. All said and done, classic Nagai is classic Nagai, so if you’re avid fan of his works or a fan of manga in general, then I recommend you to check Cutie Honey out. You won’t regret it.
