Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Hou & Rei English Translation Update

I've been thinking recently. My translation of Hou leaved a lot to be desired, so I'll be touching it and Rei both up sooner or later since I want to get a few other things out of the way before I do just that. That said, I'll also remove those stupid untranslated JP words like nakama and bakemono, since I wasn't totally thinking straight when I did Hou. However, I have improved very much since then so I just want to ensure that people get the best experience out of the story. Also, I kinda forgot to create a variation of my translation for Rei with less JP words and all so I'll add that to the list. Furthermore, that variation will feature all honorifics stripped (unlike Hou's), translated arc titles and stuff like that. Though, that version will only be recommended for those who may not like or enjoy honorifics while reading, much like manga. While on the other hand, the main translation that I, myself prefer, will keep all the honorifics, original titles, bla bla bla, so not much will change there. Lastly, I mentioned before that I would be doing a Matsuri patch for Rei, though Gura advised me not to since Sui was coming out. However, if you've been following the 4chan thread, then you know that things didn't not turn out so well. The sprites haven't been ripped and neither have the backgrounds, both due to the Umineko tools not working on the games files, except for sound and music. 

That said, I doubt much is missing from the existing Matsuri assets to create a graphics patch for Rei, so I'll try my best and find something to replace the certain backgrounds that may not have a counterpart. Anyhow, the guy behind the French translation of Hou created a sprite for both of Keiichi's parents. Though, what you see below may not be their final design, as he has been testing with eyes, too. Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Hou English Translation 1.0

Okay, I have finally finished my translation of Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Hou. Yippee! Now I can move onto something new! Probably the two untranslated Rei arcs or a (or some) Matsuri/Kizuna exclusive arc, I'll decide that soon enough. Anyway, like last time, I have prepared two versions. One with a few untranslated JP words (Onee, Oji-san, nakama etc) here and there, and another version that has those specific words translated into English, which I call the English variation patch for some reason. That said, I'm very satisfied with the overall outcome. I have put a ton of effort and work into it and I hope it shows. It went through many proofreads and fixing up, some of which was done by a helper or two. Although I still had to implement said fixing up, just saying. Anyhow, I will drop the credits for those people at the bottom. Also, even if you yourself spot any errors, please inform me so I can implement changes and fix it up. I'm not perfect, so I may have missed some things.

Now, what everyone is waiting for, if anyone bothered to even read what I just wrote that is. The download, you will find both versions up for download below. So, go get that and get reading. Hou was recently released after all, and I really want to know what people think of its story. Personally, I found Outbreak to be the most interesting, followed by Hinamizawa Bus stop and then Kamikanshi-hen. It was very entertaining and the music was great, its also significantly better than its anime adaptation, Bus Stop was new (to me) and was thus interesting, the characters were different and so was the story, while Kamikanshi-hen wasn't quite what I expected. Its just not the proper sendoff or "Gift" I expected for Higurashi's deathbed. I know more Higurashi is coming out, but not from Ryukishi07. He washed his hands long ago and has since then moved on, sad yes, but that's reality, or at least I hope not. Anyway, I'll stop myself before I run my mouth, you'll find the downloads below. Spanish translators "23rd District" contacted me shortly after my previous released and asked if they translate my translation into Spanish. Naturally, I said yes, so it seems the Spanish community will also get Hou some time in the future. Yay!

Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Hou English Translation 0.9 Christmas Release

Well, I've decided to make an early release for Christmas, my gift to you. Anyway, just FYI for those who don't know already, this has been totally machine translated by myself, I hope that won't be people off, as I have put alot of effort into it. Using infoseek, reading the sentences phonetically, and using an online dictionary to make things more accurate so it was not sloppily done. Anyway, now that I've got that out of the way, it's mostly complete, albeit only the main credit's listing (You'll see why), a few images with JP text in the background, and the games extra's which are mostly the staff room and back staff room are untranslated at this point, but everything else is so you shouldn't have a problem. And, I should have the rest done and complete sooner or later, maybe before or after the new years, although that depends. But, I know you want to stop reading so here's the download and how to play. Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Hou English Translation Announcement

Yea, I probably should have done this a while ago, seeing that people interested already know and found out  on Higurashi's Animesuki forum and elsewhere (Since I put some vid's on Youtube) that I'm working on an English translation for Hou. Albeit, machine translated like Ayanami Raising Project, but I am taking good care with the translation using both infoseek and an online dictionary, plus Google translate to read it phonetically, although I will admit it has gotten choppy at times for me. Anyway, I'm nearing the end of Hou so I guess you could say it's nearly done, although they'll be alot of fixing to do afterwards. But, in the meantime there is a bunch of vid's I have posted on my Youtube channel so feel free to check those out if your interested.

The long awaited Hou, we're lucky a guy on 4 chan got it from the Chinese and uploaded it, although in a folder and just Hou without the rest of the games from the 2nd disc. Doesn't matter in the long run but thank you, now we can all wait and see if anyone is gonna translate it, probably not. Anyhow, I ripped or simply put extracted the game files with crass so here you go. It was good to see some new backgrounds and characters. The sprites that have Keiichi and Rena with their weapons also look really nice, see below where they attempt to take on god himself.
