Suzu-chan's Cat - Chapter Zero (Japanese RAW)

Here's the first chapter of another random manga that I bought some time ago. Anyhow, it doesn't look very interesting at all. It's about a woman and her male cat feeling cucked by her human boyfriend or something, and so he tries to get between them both. Sounds like the best manga ever made, right? Well, it's two volumes long, but I've got the single volume re-print of it which was printed like in 2011 IIRC from its original 2 volume print in 2001. However, same down-low as before. It'll be scanned on-demand, if anyone wants to translate this, be sure to credit me as scanner and if you need some help, I'm willing to typeset and clean. Other than that, enjoy the first chapter, or rather chapter zero of Suzu-chan's Cat, I guess? Umm. Bye.

Super Robot Comics Mazinger Z Hen (Action Comics) Chapter 01 by Ishikawa Ken (RAW)

I actually bought this anthology book sometime last year for cheap, but while I thought about doing it myself if I got around to it eventually, I'm just gonna upload the first chapter to the web and scan the rest by demand if anyone wants to translate it. If you're wondering why, well, I don't really care much for the likes of Mazinger. It's alright, but nothing amazing. However, if anyone wants to do this, I'm open to cleaning and typesetting if need be. If I'm not needed, well, just credit me as scanner or something. At any rate, I have a few other things I'm gonna scan the first chapter of soon, so watch out for them, too. Enjoy. See ya!

Go Nagai Chronicle [RAW SCAN]

Bought and scanned this myself so that's why I didn't take it apart, but I do hope you guys appreciate it. In any case, this is a 1998 artbook/data file "chronicling" Go Nagai's history and all of the works that he has done. It's very interesting in itself so I would recommend fans to have a look through it. Anyway, the raw scan was about 800mb large so I downscaled it to about 3000px to make things smaller and more presentable for people as I don't think anybody wants it THAT big. However, I'll be keeping the color pages and the Omorai comic at the end at their original size on my computer, but if anybody wants them, just give me a shout and I'll upload them*. Other than that, I'll have another Nagai artbook/data file coming soon, but I need to get a few other things out of the way first since it will take a while to scan much like this did. Until then. See ya!

*Requires access to exhentai
*Actually, I'll just upload them. Here ya go.

New Terra Formars Live Action Trailer

No, no, no, no, no, fuck no!!!! Jesus, ah fuck my eyes! My eyes! Oh, God! No!! Just no, no, no, no, no, no, no!! No!! Fuuuuck! You had one job, Japan! Just one! And you done fucked it up! Ahhhh!Anyway, on to the trailer itself. Now, from what we see it looks pretty fucking bad. Terrible design, yellow washed cast, and what appears to be small changes to the plot: random security forces running after Komachi and Aki like they are fugitives (is this the opening to Fortress?)... for some reason.
What the fuck is that thing?
In other words, JUST the movie. I mean, seriously, I swear to god that this will just be as bad as the Attack on Titan live action, if not maybe even worse. Just check out the two images below. Motherfucking God Lee and some emo. Who is he? Because I don't remember him from the manga.
They even managed to fuck up the best character of BUGS 2. Fuuuuck!
And this fish faced mother fucker is who?
Meh. I ain't got much to say on this other than it looks shit and they fucked it up. Though I'll have to see the movie first before giving final judgment. I mean who knows , it may turn out to be good, or just fucking horrible. Meh. What do you guys think?

Update
You might also want to check out the official site of the movie. It seems they’ve added some more info on it including character bios.

Kyochuu Rettou: Recent Developments - Official JP Site Removes Chapter Reading

Fuck! Seems that the web viewer on the official site for the chapters of Kyochuu Rettou have been deactivated. Fuck! Now only the first and most recent chapter is available to be viewed. Fuck! Fuckity fuckity fuck fuck fuck!!!!! Ahem. Now, what does this mean may you ask? Well, for one thing, I won't be able to view the kanji for translation save for chapter raws 1-8 which have already been put online at Bezald Family, and the most recent chapter, number 15, I think. And second, now I have to frickin' search the net to see if there are any scans or rips of the JP web release, and I doubt there fucking are. Sheesh. I'm pissed off even more so because I planned to fuckin' screencap the chapters this coming Monday to have a backup just encase this sort of thing happened. Fuuuuck! Didn't expect it to be this soon. The second volume isn't even out yet. So that was sort of my personal cut-off date to screencap the chapters. Meh.

Anyway, the first and second volume (2nd coming out on the 20th this month) are available to buy and I already ordered the first a few days ago (before I knew this happened), so I guess I'll have to go ahead and order the second volume sooner or later as well. Meh. However, most of the following chapters are 18 pages long after chapter 4 so possibly most of what was on the JP official site I already have, or is in the second volume so there is still hope yet. We'll have to wait and see on that, though. Hmm. Also, the Chinese have done all chapters available (1-15) but like most Chinese groups they love to have shitty, ugly, fucktard watermarks on their images. Then again, I could use that for scans and the like but that still leaves kanji to be translated, and ain't no way in hell am I going the Song Dynasty route. Ugh! O, woe is me. Meh. Again, we'll have to wait and see what happens, so that'll be all for now. Umm, bye, I guess.

P.S. - Thanks to the guy who requested me to do this manga for informing me about this. I wouldn't have known myself until I would have went online to the official site this coming Monday. Thanks, bud.

Note & Update - PLEASE READ FIRST
Actually, it turns out that those Thai guys got me scans of chapters 3-15 and wow did I not expect that. Now I don't have to remove watermarks and I can get the kanji. Yes! God bless Thailand.
Anyway, a lot of the info in the main post of this blog post I wrote before knowing that I got scans of chapters 3-15 from those Thai guys. Though at least this post will let you know that I ordered the first volume, that the official site removed the reading of chapters, and that China sucks cock.

ROMHacking: The Process of Translating Japanese Video Games (GB, GG)

There are many ways to go about translating a video game as there are many options to start off from but here I will show you my way. I was researching how to translate a Japanese video game into English on romhacking months ago and after weeks of pain I finally managed to implement changes with help from Scio. I don't think I could have managed to learn without his help, many thanks Scio. Even if you aren't going to translate a game from Japanese this will still show you the ropes so please read to the end and tell me what you think.

Stages of Translating a Japanese Video Game
  1. Get a translator
  2. Gathering a Games Japanese Character and English Text Hex's
  3. Implementation
  4. Organization
Tools Needed
Emulator for game
Hex Workshop (My preferred hex editor, nice easy to use gui)
WindHex (Used initially to find English text using relative search, also hex editor)

1. Translator
Many stages are involved in translating a game and firstly your gonna need someone who understand and can read Japanese, for me that was a guy I met on moddb from making a mod based on the second sino Japanese war. I messaged him and said that could he possibly help me out with translating a game, he was actually very enthusiastic about it which was really good because if someone is bored with it they are going to eventually stop working on it or....... ask for MONEY! You don't want either of them to happen so try to keep your translator happy because google translate can't do poop when it comes to Japanese. You can use it for short phrases or single words but that's really it. I don't blame you if you try as it at least shows your making an effort although many would say otherwise but im more open minded.

Machine Translators
Google Translate: Can be useful but most of the time a broken mess.
Infoseek: A decent Japanese made translator that you can reword into readable sentences, your best bet if you can't read it.

2. Gathering the Japanese Character and English Text Hex's
This process isn't actually very hard to do but just time consuming, it may depend from game to game but the technique I use generally should work. If you want to implement the translations into the game your first going to have to find where the text you want to change is in the game, for that you have to gather all of at least a large portion of the games text hex's. The first stop you need to make is to find a part of the game where English text is displayed such as the main title screen where they have some English for example CLAMP in the Rayearth games.

Take a screenshot and download WindHex, this program will allow you to find the English text using relative search so open that part of the program up and type in the English text on the main screen into it. It will then give you a offset, put that in the Hex Workshop bar at the top and you will then see a few digits right at it's location. Clamp on the title screen for me was B9C1B7C3C6, then in your table or word document fill in these hex's with the letters.

Note
There are two ways you can organize your hex's, you can create a table using a hex editor or like me you can just have it in a word document. Here's a short extract of the hex's I collected for Magic Knight Rayearth Making of Magic Knight:

10 =
11 =
12 =
96 = A
97 = B
98 = C

The English text at the title screen is then your testing ground for finding the rest of the hex's so change the for example B9 to B8 and vice versa for the rest and just go up and down with the hex's, save what you did and then load up the game to see your changes. You then fill in the hex's with what is there now and do that until you have a sizeable portion of the hex's full, if you can't make out then Japanese characters then get your translator to recognize them and then you can continue. It can be hard to make out the Japanese Characters when the game is old and retro such as a Game boy game due to the text being in bit format but don't worry as that's what the translator is for.

3. Implementation
It's easy to find the text when you know what your doing, check the video below for a visual way on how to do it. Just gather the hex's for the characters and then search for the hex's and you'll find the text your looking for or at least most of the time you will. Then replace those hex's with the English hex's you found in the game and like magic you have made the text appear in English. Now sometimes you will have limited spaces but I just made due with what I could and did my best since....I didn't learn how to use pointers and still haven't. For a rough translation it's not necessary as you can always go over it when your done.

4. Organization
I'll fill this in sooner or later.

Note
An old tutorial I had 75% finished over 2 months ago that I touched up recently, I'll do the rest sooner or later. Im not the best at writing tutorials but I hope you'll learn something from this.
