Ok here's that updated version of the 99% translation, im not sure if everything is done but I'll find out when people play through it. Im busy at the moment and can't do it myself, what hasn't been translated is the ending credits and that's about it. A name needs to be extended in the stats screen and one or two squishy letters, I tried that before but it ended up wrong so I didn't bother. I think that's all needs fixing but it's been months since I have glanced at the game, if you do perhaps run across anything please send me a screenshot so I can find it in the game. Thanks and have fun.
Kyochuu Rettou, Go Nagai, Terra Formars, Higurashi, Evangelion, and much much more.

Magic Knight Rayearth 2: Making of Magic Knight English Translation Release - 23/6/14
I couldn't find out how to replace the text for the stats so I just write up a document detailing what each of them mean, that should help you figure it out. Overall I translated multiple playthroughs but this game requires many more before completion, if anyone wants to continue where I left off then you can have the Japanese character and English text hex's. I don't think anyone will as there was a significant lack of interest in the translation but it's worth a try. It also was harder and more time consuming to implement a translation into this when compared to Ayanami Raising Project on the DS, that was also one of the reasons why I don't want to continue. It hurt my head and by the end of the day I got jacks hit done where progress is being made daily with DS translating, I also didn't even have to collect the hex's as crystaltile2 displays the games text in the program which really helps. Anyway enough about the DS, below you'll find the rom patched with the English translation and the stats document. The patch on its own will be at romhacking, thanks for reading and try to provide feedback if you do try out the translation.

Aretha English Translation Update (Game Boy)
Sadly no progress has been made, my translator was busy for over an entire month and I moved onto a project I could work on by myself. I still have this planned to translate in the future but that's on hold for the moment, if anyone is interested in helping or or translating this game then you can have the English and Japanese hex's that I collected. With those you can find the text in the game and replace it, here is also some folders with pics that I took to translate since that's how I set my work up in a document.
Sorry for any inconveniences, anyhow the games summary of the back story from the manual translated by cebix on Romhacking.
A long time ago, there was a peaceful kingdom named Aretha on Arterra.
Two daughters were born to king Riverton of the Aretha kingdom.
Riverton, wishing for the welfare of his daughters, gave them the two rings Gold Cat's Eye and Silver Cat's Eye.
But then the evil king Howard began to assault the happily celebrating Aretha kingdom.
The Gold Dragon who served Howard suddenly appeared during a banquet, coming to steal one of the daughters.
The desperately resisting Riverton and the Aretha army were forced into a bitter battle, and about to be defeated.
Riverton used his last strength to seal the Aretha temple and allow his one remaining daughter to escape.
Now, more than ten years have passed by.

Magic Knight Rayearth 2: Making of Magic Knight Translation Progress Update - 06/5/14
Sadly not much going on at the moment, my translator has been kinda busy for the past week and I haven't been able to get any work done. What I have been doing is collecting more pics of Japanese to be translated which is just going to pile up but hope may be ahead, a guy on ROMHacking said he's looking for translating experience and he said he would help me out. Hopefully he will come through and then I will be able to continue working on this, that and eventually Aretha which is another game I am interested in.
Anyway about that in progress release I mentioned before, Im going to hold that off for a while. Mainly because that was before my translator was busy and you know the story there. If you want to try what's done of the game so far then just send me a message or something like that, I'd be more than happy to.

Aretha Translation Announcement (Game Boy)
A guy on The ISO Zone mentioned this game series when I asked about what game people want translated a while back, I looked at the games and they seem pretty nice. I plan to translate the 3 Game Boy games eventually, they have an anime art style which intrigues me and the sprites eyes and mouths move like a good visual novel game. My translator Kiiri has been busy for the past week so sadly I haven't been able to get much work done, to fill my spare time I have been researching and discussing how to Hack and Translate Sega Saturn and PC games. Im unsure if I'll even make any progress in that area but I hope I do, meanwhile I have collected all the hex's and made a table for first Aretha game on the Game Boy. That will allow me to find the Japanese Characters in the game and replace them when I get around to working on it, hopefully my translator will be available to translate for me as I can't do anything without him. This Saturn business is driving me insane, I doubt I'll get anywhere.

Magic Knight Rayearth 2: Making of Magic Knight Translation Progress Update - 27/4/14
There's just so much text in this game, it's driving me crazy. It's kind of killing my goal of translating that Martian Successor Nadesico Dating Simulator game for the Sega Saturn, im trying to get some help on ROMHacking about gathering the hex's so hopefully I should be able to make progress there soon. Anyhow progress for Making of Magic Knight has been going good and I should be able to make a release soon, by then two playthroughs will have been translated. Most of the main events have been translated but don't hold much hope for the adventure mode further than the village as of yet, that's still in progress and due to the variation and multiple playthroughs needed it still will be for time to come.
Here is the flowchart I made for the woods adventure, there's so much old men and monsters in this forest for it to be a hentai. That totally contrasts to the weird shit I stumbled upon involving a certain frog monster lately. I have to go to each one three times to get the dialogue for each character and that's really time consuming. After this it's to the mountains and oh lord will that take long, for The Missing Colors I took 982 images of text to translate but for Making of Magic Knight I have 1018 and im nowhere near done. From that you can just see the scale of this translation compared to the previous one, anyhow comment to share your thoughts as I want to hear what you think.

Magic Knight Rayearth 2: Making of Magic Knight Translation Progress Update - 17/4/14
Progress is taking way longer than expected or when compared to The Missing Colors, there are various problems stalling me. One of which is this huge adventure mode that branches out far, each stop has it's own dialogue for the character your talking to and different dialogue depending on if your playing as Hikaru, Umi or Fuu. This part has been crazy to translate and im not even done, this is only one of the multiple adventure locations you can choose from as during points in the game you can move into a new area.
The code is way more complex than The Missing Colors, since the game is in color certain text appears in various colors to highlight items. The text highlighted is multiple of hex's long rather than single text or characters, this has caused me problems when trying to find the offset of the colored text on the rom. An example of this is FF0506 and then 2B (2B = The Text/Character) for it in red or just simply 2B uncolored, on times this has left me with fewer or more hex's than needed causing further problems like this.
I did eventually find a few around it but all of this is just a few of the problems I have faced trying to translate the game, there is also the problem of finding the offset of the kanji on the menu's and certain screens as my current hex's can't find them meaning they use separate tiles. Now I have to find those, isn't this just wonderful. I have also had to play through the adventure mode in the village multiple times with each character to take screenies for my translator soaking up the time I use to implement the translation, im going to have to do the same for the entire game for each character as during events you pick one of the three girls to go each with different dialogues. Even with all this I am still making good progress having near translated an entire playthrough, sadly though many playthroughs are needed as this game has multiple endings. Anyhow in the end it will all be worth it, thanks for reading and wish me good luck.

Magic Knight Rayearth 2nd: The Missing Colors English Translation Progress Update - 13/4/14
A little progress update, nearly 100% of the game has been translated but there are just a few things here and there I want to fix up. The main task is to fix up all the names in the game so no more Hikar but Hikaru:, I used spaces left over in the dialogues to move up the code and that gave me the extra space needed to insert their names fully and to have a : to show their talking. That's what im working on at the moment for this and doing that for all the names in the game shouldn't take too long. Im also making sure everything is translated as I came across some more dream text and a text when you perform a puzzle wrong, there could be more so im going to play through the game again just to be safe.
Now the other matter at hand. I recently came across a gamebreaker in the Red Castle release, before you entered the castle the game froze in mid conversation. I checked over the code again and saw that I accidentally went over a few hex's, I fixed that over a week ago but im disappointed that nobody noticed it and from this I know nobody bothered to get that far or even try to complete the game. Anyhow since I fixed that you can now finish the game, I'll upload that now as the 99% release so for those interested please enjoy. The translation is near 100% complete but I want to hold off for a moment before I call it finished so until then enjoy and have fun.

Magic Knight Rayearth 2nd: The Missing Colors English Translation - The Red Castle Release
The next release of the English Translation, currently mostly everything up till the end of the game has been done. Im going to hold out on the ending credits as currently I can't fit in the English text due to the limit of spaces, when everything else is done I will look into text pointers and do what I can. I am currently playing through the game myself to correct errors, spelling mistakes and translating the little Japanese that is left. I am around half way through the game myself, it shouldn't take me long to play the rest as the game so if there are any mistakes or errors I'll be sure to quickly correct them. Anyhow I want to hear what you guys think so play away and come back to me and tell me what you thought of the translation.

Check out this walkthrough for help with the puzzles as you'll need it, the hints are not very helpful.
Note
The next final release will be when everything has been translated, I don't know when that will be as im also working on another translation which is now my primary project but don't worry as I will finish it. Translating that is much more taxing than The Missing Colors as Game Gear games have far more complex code than a Game Boy game does, progress is going well but I am running into problems from time to time. If your interested in Making of Magic Knight then check out the other post for an update on it's progress.

Magic Knight Rayearth 2: Making of Magic Knight Translation In Progress
My next translation again working alongside my buddy Kiiri, the aim of this one is to train the Magic Knights for 50 days to face the invading armies and to find the pillar. Im glad this one is actually based on the second season as none of the other games are which disappointed me alot because....... no Nova (Probably isn't in this one either
). Anyhow I'll make a release when a playable portion of the game is translated just like what im currently doing for the missing colors. I hope people will become interested as I want people to be involved and talk to one another about how the translation is going and stuff along those lines, anyhow thanks for reading and be on the lookout for this in the near future.

Magic Knight Rayearth 2nd: The Missing Colors English Translation - The Blue Tower Release
A release is here after almost a month of translating, this release features the first segment of the game out of three available in English. The plot of the game is to recapture the three colors that have been stolen, you fight your way through monsters in The Blue, Tower, Green Fortress and the Red Castle. I don't want people to wait until this is totally done as I know some are eager to play so im gonna release the translation in 4 segments. You may encounter some Japanese while playing but please remember that this is in progress and will your feedback it will be improved, for those of you reading thanks for your interest and have fun.
Planned Releases
Note
This is my first fan translation so it may not be "Professionally" done so possibly expect some mistakes here and there. I also had to take many liberties when translating the game such as rewriting dialogue and alot of stuff like that so the translation isn't perfect but it's understandable and that's what really counts. Please provide feedback to me as I want to hear what you think.

Magic Knight Rayearth 2nd: The Missing Colors English Translation In Progress
Recently I started looking into translating video games at romhacking, it took me a while to fully understand the process of romhacking and implementing it into a game in general but I eventually got there. I wanted the play the Magic Knight Rayearth games and saw that most of them weren't translated so I took it upon myself to start translating The Missing Colors. I also plan to do the other games as I again want to play them.... plus I don't read Japanese.
It is me and a friend, my friend is translating around 80% of the work (I do some of it myself) but 100% of that I rewrite as he is Japanese translating it into English so I have to fix it up. I also then have to shorten down and rewrite the sentences to make sure it all fits in as I don't know how to use text pointers so I have to take many liberties in translating the game. This may upset some as seen in the topic on romhacking but hey im doing the best I can. I have translated roughly around a third of the game so far and that would be up to the end of the blue tower segment, im gonna make a release of that soon as I know people would want to play and I also want to see what people think.
The Team
Me - Hacker/Translator (I do the bulk of the work, implementing the English text and the like)
Kiiri - Translator (Rough translations that I nearly 100% rewrite)
Here is a video I recorded not long ago of the English translation so check that out if your interested.
